Eligibility

What is the Australia eVisitor?

The eVisitor (subclass 651) is a multiple-entry Australian eVisa for citizens of the EU, the UK (British Citizen) and other listed European countries. It lets you visit Australia for a holiday, to see family and friends, or for business visitor activities. When it's granted, Home Affairs digitally links it to your passport, so you don't get a label or sticker.

Am I eligible for the eVisitor (subclass 651)?

You must be a citizen of, and hold a passport from, one of these countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom (British Citizen) and Vatican City. You must also apply from outside Australia and meet the health and character requirements. Non-citizen passports and British National (Overseas), BOTC, BOC, BPP or British Subject passports can't be used. Use our eligibility checker or see Home Affairs, eVisitor 651.

My passport isn't on the eVisitor list. Can you help?

We only prepare and lodge eVisitor (subclass 651) applications, so we can't apply for you. Please check which visa suits your trip with the official Home Affairs Visa Finder. You can apply directly with Home Affairs.

I'm a New Zealand citizen. Do I need a visa?

New Zealand citizens with a valid NZ passport usually apply for a Special Category visa (subclass 444) on arrival in Australia, so you don't need our service. See Home Affairs, SCV 444.

I have a criminal conviction. Can I apply for an eVisitor?

Home Affairs advises anyone with a criminal conviction in any country to apply for a different visa rather than the eVisitor, and to declare it in full. Please check your options on immi.homeaffairs.gov.au before applying. We can't lodge an eVisitor for you in this situation.

Stay, travel & rules

How long can I stay in Australia?

The eVisitor is valid for 12 months from the date it's granted, with multiple entry. You can stay up to 3 months each time you enter Australia.

Do I have to be outside Australia to apply?

Yes. You must be outside Australia when you apply for the eVisitor and when Home Affairs decides your application.

Can I work on an eVisitor?

No. The eVisitor is not a work visa. Business visitor activities, such as attending a conference, negotiating a contract or making general business enquiries, are allowed. You can also study or train for up to 3 months in total.

Can I include my family in one application?

No. Home Affairs requires a separate application for each person, including children listed on a parent's passport. Our fee is per applicant, and we can handle the whole family's applications together.

Will I get a visa label in my passport?

No. Your eVisitor is digitally linked to your passport. Keep a copy of your grant notice when you travel. If you get a new passport, tell Home Affairs before you travel.

Do I need travel health insurance?

Home Affairs recommends health insurance for visitors because you are personally liable for your healthcare costs in Australia. Some countries have reciprocal healthcare agreements with Australia.

Our service, fees & security

What exactly do you do?

We check your passport against the official eVisitor list, take your details through a secure form, check them against your passport for errors and inconsistencies, prepare your eVisitor (651) application and lodge it with the Department of Home Affairs through ImmiAccount. We keep you updated by email until Home Affairs makes its decision. We don't provide immigration advice; for advice about your circumstances, talk to a registered migration agent or lawyer (who can help).

How much does it cost?

Our assistance fee is US$49 per applicant. It covers the eligibility check, preparation, line-by-line accuracy review, lodgement with Home Affairs and email support until the decision.

Can I apply directly with the government instead?

Yes, always. You can apply yourself at immi.homeaffairs.gov.au. Our service is optional, for travellers who want a careful second check and the paperwork handled for them.

How long does it take?

We aim to review and lodge complete applications within 1 business day. Home Affairs then decides the application. Its published processing data (checked October 2026) shows most recent eVisitor applications decided in under a day, but processing times vary. See the official processing time guide. Don't book travel until your visa is granted.

Do you guarantee my visa will be approved?

No. Nobody can guarantee approval. Only the Department of Home Affairs decides visa applications. Our job is to make sure your application is complete, accurate and lodged correctly.

Is my personal data secure?

Our website runs over an encrypted HTTPS (SSL/TLS) connection. We use your information only to prepare and lodge your application, and we never sell it. See our privacy policy for details.

What if you make a mistake?

If an error on our part affects your application, our money-back promise applies (see the refund policy for terms).

Are you a migration agent or a government website?

Neither. Australia eVisa Online is an independent private service operated by Pacific Legacy Trust. It is not affiliated with the Australian Government or the Department of Home Affairs. We are not registered migration agents and don't give immigration advice. Before paying anyone to help with a visa, Home Affairs suggests reading Who can help with your application.
